Brüer Tidman Show at Great Yarmouth Library

Busting boundaries even at 83 while gravely ill, the invincible Bruer Tidman painted the masterful and whimsical portrait below of our current Lord Mayor of London with his wife in just two and half days (it’s 5x4 ft). Combining traditional finery with contemporary abstraction, it’s an extraordinarily powerful painting of his friend and patron.

Temporarily back on loan from Mansion House for Bruer’s exhibition opening this week in the creative town that is Great Yarmouth, I am mightily honoured to be officially ‘opening the show’ on Saturday in the Great Yarmouth Library. There are lots more exhibitions going on in Great Yarmouth at the same time.
